Products
In
a unique package, the Aphel product portfolio utilises all the proven
electromechanical technologies appropriate
to power distribution. DB2000 and DB3000 systems are extrusion-based
housings with varying degrees of modularity manufactured in aluminium
with high-strength plastic mouldings for sockets, end-caps, switches,
accessory housings and mounting brackets.
Our product offerings, such as the Burland Box
and ADU allow solutions to building services distribution ahead
of traditional
approaches. Aphel has a premier product portfolio for global applications
and the parts kit generated in its development is frequently called
upon to fill the needs of custom solutions. Because this normally
involves the use of a specially designed housing, generally in
steel, in-house engineering has accumulated a considerable amount
of expertise in precision metalwork design and production.
Original designs - now evolved over 20 years - continue to play
a major part in both the standard range and the custom parts kit.
The DB Family has developed in that time from the continuingly
successful DB series itself to the landmark DB2000 and the screwless
MT socket. DB3000 consolidated screwless technology while raising
mounting accessory design to a new peak.
Engineering
Research, design and development - the engineering team works closely
with independent design houses and test houses to ensure they
have access to the latest applied science and international standards
for electrical equipment and for their applications. In this way
unique concepts are created that meet universal needs and the
global standards infrastructure.
Current expectation requires 3D CAD development
through to 100% component and product testing in a system designed
to highlight problems
quickly and eliminate them. ISO 9001:2000 approved systems ensure
full traceability and the ability to re-engineer for production
in very
short timescales. The resulting flexibility means that wherever
the customer is located, Aphel can accept a brief and evolve a solution
complete to finished product in minimal time.
Burland
Solutions engineering capability complements that of the Aphel
manufacturing teams for office and education based projects. Front-line
consultation with Burland personnel ensures that the custom cycle
time is minimised and solutions
are optimised for cost-effectiveness.
Production
Flexible Lean Manufacturing utilises Just In Time (JIT) supply
strategies and is geared to the needs of customers conversant
with these same philosophies.
Aphel production spans engineering disciplines
through component production, assembly and system integration.
The multi-cell operation
in the UK feeds directly to hubs and partner companies around the
world.
Aphel adopts the design-engineering-production
approach that 'there is always a best way'.
Consequently, our products utilise plastic components for multifunctionality
and safety reasons as well as for the quality benefits they bring
in production. The mix is complemented with aluminium extrusions
and steel housings that offer their own unique properties as appropriate.
